Filming in E.G.

‘Where The Road Runs Out’ was the first feature film ever to be made in Equatorial Guinea, a country perhaps better known for its troubled past than a history in cinema.

“Taking on this project made me feel like one of my cinema heroes Werner Hertzog. It was a little bit like dragging a boat across a mountain.”

Working in a country with no infrastructure for film was extremely challenging but with a theatre school and some wonderful people who were up for the challenge, the film turned into a success story for all involved.

The film ended up winning several awards including ‘Best Film’ at the San Diego Film Festival as well as a Black reel Award.

“The film ended up winning multiple awards …”

The film debuted on Netflix in the US.
