Festival Journey continues for “Where The Road Runs Out”
As the festival journey for Where the Road Runs Out continues, Rudolf Buitendach, the film’s director-producer in an exclusive comment to Flickering Myth emphasised the struggle of the independent filmmaker.
Looking to the film’s festival success to date and the continuation of the festival journey, Buitendach commented: “’Every-time we watch it at a new venue we feel the love from the audience. And when people come up to us afterwards it is always to express that this is a film with real heart. It really makes it all worthwhile for our continued struggle as independent filmmakers.”

From an illustrious scientific career in the lecture halls of Europe, professor George Mensa (Isaach De Bankolé: Casino Royale, The Limits of Control) finds himself back in Africa when an old friend unexpectedly passes away. Inheriting a field station in the mosquito-infested jungle, George soon learns that challenges come in all sizes — especially when a local orphan boy, Jimmy, shows up at his doorstep. George acquaints Jimmy with the joys of chocolate and Jimmy in turn plays matchmaker between George and Corina (Juliet Landau: Ed Wood, Buffy The Vampire Slayer), head of the local orphanage. But all is jeopardized with the sudden arrival of Martin (Stelio Savante, Eisenstein in Guanajuato), an old friend with a secret, as they all discover how easy it is to be led astray, where the road runs out.
Following an inclusion in a select list of films screened at AFI SILVER: an official programme of the American Film Institute, it has been announced that Where the Road Runs Out will screen at both the acclaimed Sunscreen Film Festival, an official festival of The Academy Of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences and The Alhambra Theater Film Festival.

Well received at AFI SILVER, the film was the recipient of the Best Feature Film, 2014 at The San Diego Film Festival, as well as an Official Selection by the 2015 Pan African Film Festival and the 2014 Heartland Film Festival.
