The Viper Filmstream camera was unique in that it was a system seemingly before its time, and yet it quickly fell into obsolescence. But was a camera that helped change the face of filmmaking forever. It was first used by myself and Producer Hans Van Helden on our short film ‘Indoor Fireworks’, helmed by Dutch DOP Marc Felperlaan before Michael Mann adopted it for “Collateral’.
WATCH THE FILM
A small part of cinema history shot on the first fully uncompressed camera that pre-dated RED.
Making Of
From the first day of shooting Indoor Fireworks until its premiere screening on 35mm film, the Viper Filmstream camera and its uncompressed images performed superbly. On set and in post production it handled very much like film.
